These 2 stories chronicle the theft of my car one wintry evening by two galavanting young field mice. In the first story, they mostly do wheelies, but I end up saving them just before the car plummets into the Rio Grande Gorge.

The second story follows our return to the wreck, and the intrepid work of a friendly chipmunk and his cousins who use litter, a spool of thread, and a discarded lighter to build a series of miniature hot-air balloons that lift the car into the air.
